DPM End User Recovery not updating RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are using Microsoft System Center 2012 Data Protection Manager (Version 4.0.1920.0). It is configured to back up data on both Disk and Tape. We implemented the End User Recovery option a few months back and non-admin users can restore data on their own.

We now came across a new problem. When the End User Recovery option was chosen, the users where presented with previous versions to recover from, but when new users were created in Active Directory (or modified users ex. new surname), the newly created users did not have access to recover data from their workstation. The backup is still being performed since an admin can restore their data (even the data of the users created after the End User Recovery was chosen).

We noticed that from the computer management of the server, under the shares tab, the new users are not being listed there automatically. The thing is that when we initiated the End User Recovery, the list of shares became instantly available without any admin intervention. Now it seems that it is not updating the shares with new users.

Why is it that the shares are not updating? How can it automatically detect new users and provide them with previous versions?

PS: All users are using Windows 7 and the server is running Server 2008 R2.
