Can't report unsafe website to Microsoft RRS feed

Answers

  • Hi,

Depending on your IE and Windows version (not included in your question/report)

    Tools>Smart Screen Filter>Report Unsafe Website

    Tools>Smart Screen Filter> to turn it on/off

Which AV product do you have installed? Some AV products have their own 'Smart screen filters'

the URL you provided has a meta redirect on it..... a legitimate method of redirection, although frowned upon.

    <html><head><meta http-equiv="refresh" content="2; url=http://com-awk.net/space.php?a=313292&amp;c=wl_con&amp;s=1127m "/></head><body></body></html>

Here is the SiteAdvisor report for the domain

    http://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/www.exitoacademico.una.ac.cr

I think your AV product is reporting a false positive in other browsers (AV products hook into web browsers to provide site validation services)... Gecko and Chromium are/were tightly affiliated with google (gecko now sponsored by yahoo) and may be relying on google's site verification meta tags to ascertain the validity of websites.

  • IE does not block http://www.exitoacademico.una.ac.cr/speech.php

If you suspect it, then add it to your Restricted sites list.  That will mean that the redirects won't be done so then you can report whatever piece of it that you like.

    Then following Rob's lead

    http://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/com-awk.net/space.php

    gets

This link is suspicious. We tested it and found potential security risks. Be careful.

  • Hi Arne,

As Rob suggested, Smartscreen Filter will do the things to report the unsafe website. For more information about SmartScreen Filter, please check the article below:

  • Windows version? IE version? Which application (I assume) says it's an "unsafe website?
