WMI filter

    Question

  • I need to make a WMI Filter to apply a logon script for administrators but only on servers (I want to apply bginfo). Can anyone help me with this?

I can separate servers on specific OUs

if you see another way to apply bginfo only on servers it will also help.

    thank you very much

I think this will work this way:

Create a sub OU and place the computer account in it, Create your policy and configure it as loopback merge mode. Then remove 'Authenticated Users Apply GPO' permission and add your administrators in security filtering.

The loopback thing Mahdi suggestet will work.

In addition, there's more than one way to skin a cat :)

You could run your script through
    HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run, and you could
populate your value there with GPP Registry, which offers superior
    methods of filtering.
