Windows 7 disc 32bit RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit disc and I would like to upgrade it to 64bit disc. Is there a way I can upgrade or does the disc have both 32bit and 64bit on it now?

    Thanks,

    HB

  • What is the source of this Win 7 Ultimate DVD?

The retail Windows 7 Ultimate package includes both a 32 bit DVD *and* a 64 bit DVD. You can choose to install one *or* the other with the single key provided.

If you purchased an OEM Windows 7 Ultimate, you got either a 32 bit or a 64 bit version, depending on what you ordered or selected. In this case, you need to contact the vendor to see about an exchange if you have not already installed the 32 bit version you have.

  • Hi,

In addition, you cannot upgrade Windows 7 cross-architecture. If you want to move to Windows 7 64-bit from 32-bit, you will have to backup all the important files to avoid data loss and perform a Clean Install for Windows 7 64-bit.
