Custom report converted from Project 2003 to Project 2010 doesn't print Notes field correctly. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I had created a report in Project 2003 to print out items such as WBS#, task name, due date, resource initials, and percent complete, in a header line, followed immediately by the note for that particular action.  When I upgraded to Project 2010, the report now prints out identical to how just hitting print from the Gantt chart view does, e.g. with the notes on the following pages versus under each activity.  I have sent my file to another 2010 user, and it prints properly on his machine.  Am I missing a setting somewhere?

I also tried re-creating the report from scratch with another name, and it has the same issue.

The other user has a slightly newer version of Project 2010, but would that matter, e.g. it worked in my Project 2003...?

  • I had version (build?) 14.0.4760.1000, the other user has 14.0.6112.5000.  I have since upgraded to the latter version (along with a bunch of Office upgrades), which has solved the problem - I thought it was grasping at straws, but apparently not.  (employer had updates disabled).

    Thanks,

  • NealeP,

If by "slightly newer" version of Project 2010 you mean the other user installed SP1, then yes, that might matter. Otherwise, there is no "newer" version. There were probably a couple versions of Project 2010 beta and then it was released for production. After that, it's all service packs and when necessary, hot fixes.
