  • The error disappears after I reboot my machine. Thanks to my company's energy policy which closes my machine last night.

It seems every time after I installed the Excel and the add-in, I need to restart the machine.  Not sure why but as least it's working now.

  • I found if I open the excel and wait for a while, then the Excel can close properly. If close Excel immediately after opening it, the Excel will crash.

It seems the Excel takes a long time to load the Add-in.  Does the Excel loads the add-ins before the main window opens? If I see the Excel main window opens, does it finish loading all add-ins or it is still loading something?

Thanks for any help/suggestion.  I do not know how to get more details about this issue.

  • Hi,

On the above related issue, Try the steps below:

    Go to the location C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14

    1. Right click on Excel.exe

    2. Select Properties.

    3. Click on compatibility mode.

    4. Remove the check mark for Run this program in compatibility mode for.

Then click on ok and try working in Excel.

For loading add-in you mentioned, this is a normal phenomenon. The Excel loads add-ins before the main window opens, If the main window disappears, the loading add-ins finish completely.

    Sincerely,

    Harry
