Loss of IE Favorites - Folder redirection

    Question

  • hi

anyone ever had this issue before?

    loss of IE favourites

folder redirection is set up for the following:-

    Desktop

    Documents

    Favourites

    Start Menu

every so often users complain IE favourites have disappeared, (they are still on server).

logging off and on resolves this. There is nothing in Event logs to point on anything either.

    specs are:-

    server 2008 R2 x64

    Pc windows 7

    Regards

  • Hi Gavin,

Do we use Offline Files? By default, Offline Files is enabled. If we have disabled it, it's recommended that we re-enable it. Offline Files and Folder Redirection are two features that are often used together to redirect the path of local folders such as the Documents folder to a network location, while caching the contents locally for increased speed and reliability.

Regarding Offline Files and Folder Redirection, the following article can be referred to for more information.

  • i have set a new share up with the correct permissions

when users logs on it creates the user folder then favourites folder as expected but doesnt copy any of the favourites over.

can create a shortcut on client or server and appears instantly in either share or client pc

    any ideas ??????
