There is no default interface that will allow you to import Actual Work hours by resource from an Excel workbook to a Microsoft Project schedule.  That said, you might want to try copying and pasting from the workbook into the timephased grid in either the Task Usage or Resource Usage views.

Out of curiosity, if you are using Project Server or Project Online, why aren't your team members submitting their progress using the Timesheet page in PWA?  Doing this would eliminate your problems with the numbers being recorded in an Excel workbook.

Just a couple of thoughts.  Hope this helps.

  • Hi Dale,

    Thanks for your response.

I am using Project Server on premise.

There is a legacy system in use for timesheets. I can get an excel extract out of that system. I am fine with copying and pasting the data from excel extract into project server.
