Directx Error when trying to play some games requiring Directx11

Question

Most games work without any problems, but 'Battle Field 3' and 'Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3' both fail to install ! error given is
'Directx Setup; Internal error has occured'
Have checked the Directx Logs and says Directx 11 is install, have tried to run the Directx updater but says I have the latest version.

What graphics card do you have?
Have you tried ejecting the cd when you get this error (sometime it will continue to install)
Are you running dual graphics cards as SLI / CF can cause problems, if you are try installing with only one graphics card.
