Categories setting specific types of Reminders RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I would like to associate a specific type of Reminder (None, 30mins, etc.) when categorizing an event.

Is it possible (with a macro or other) to do this?

    Thanks/Brgds

  • Hi Joao,

I am afraid there is not a direct way for this in Outlook.

If it is acceptable for you to set a category and add a flag (rather than a reminder) at the same time, you may consider creating a Quick Step for this:
    1. Click “ Create New” on the Quick Steps in the Tool Bar

    2. Give a name for this quick step. Choose Categorize message then click Add Action and select Flag Message. You can customize more as you like.

    3. Set a shortcut key for this quick step then click Save.

Now, if you want to give a category to event and set a flag to it at the same time, just select the message then click the quick step you customize(or press the shortcut key).

But here we mainly focus on general issues about Office desktop client. If the method above cannot meet your requirement and you still want to see if it can be achieved using macros, it is suggested to post a new thread to the following MSDN forum for Outlook:

    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/home?forum=outlookdev

The reason why we recommend posting appropriately is you will get the most qualified pool of respondents, and other partners who read the forums regularly can either share their knowledge or learn from your interaction with us. Thank you for your understanding.

    Hope this can be helpful.
