opening deploymentshare error RRS feed

  • Question

  • There was something wrong with the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit share so i restored a backup copy of the deploymentshare. Now i want to import / open this deploymentshare in the workbench but getting a error: Invalid charcater in the given encoding, line 1 position 1.

When i try to open the deploymentshare with another domain administrator user getting the same error. When log in as the ADMINISTRATOR the error does not appear.

It looks like a rights problem but all the users are domain admins group.

Searching the internet for maybe a rights problem within MDT2013 and Server 2012 R2 found that some settings must be altered like in the policy local, security settings: run all administrators in admin approval mode: enabled because the builtin administrator only has thes rights. Restarted the server but no effect.

    What can be the problem?

  • Did you check permissions on the folder itself to make sure those accounts or groups have modify rights?

  • Yes, the users are domain admin and has full control over the deploymentshare folder.
