Error 41 Kernel Power RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello, I'm running Win 2019 Server with two VM machines one HyperV. When I reboot the virtual machines from within Windows I then receive and error message in Even Viewer: Error 41 Kernel Power. This happens on both VMs but not on the actual main server. Any thought why and how to fix this?

Thank you. Karel Grulich, MCSE, SBS

  • Error 41 is not shutting down cleanly.  How are you rebooting the VMs?  You need to use the restart option from inside the Windows VM, or the shutdown option from the Hyper-V menu.  Using reset will cause this to happen.

Please post all future Hyper-V questions in the Hyper-V forum.

  • You should still post in the Hyper-V forum.  This forum is for the EOL Virtual Server 2005.
