No specific Date on Gant/Network Plan RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I have to create an network plan for a project on my university. I don't know any specific dates of the project at the time, so I'm looking for a solution to let the timeline count simple days. No dates like Mon 06.22.15, I just would like it to count beginning at 0 till X.

Starting day is 0. First step takes 3 days... so the earliest day to do action 2 is on day 4.

    Is this possible?

    Thanks for any answer :)

    Jeff

  • Hi Jeff,

    Double-Click on the timescale.

In the upcoming form, select "1 tier"

Set Units to be Days and in Label select 1, 2, 3, 4... fom start.

Note that the same option is NOT available for the values of Start and Finish you might show in the tabular part of the view :-(

    Greetings,

  • jefflorberg,

Is this what you want? I created it by using two custom text fields. The first ("my Start") has the formula:

    "day " & DateDiff("d",[Project Start],[Start])+1

And the second ("my Finish") has the forumla:

    "day " & DateDiff("d",[Project Start],[Finish])+1

The timeline depicts what Jan suggested.

    Hope this helps.
