8.1 Pro Pack Install Error - Couldn't Complete the Updates, Undoing Changes RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have attempted to install the Windows 8.1 Pro Pack 64 Bit for my new Dell Inspiron 11.  I entered the product key, and the download began normally - I saw the update finishing at 100% and it said do not turn off computer, etc.  Shortly after the next message was "We couldn't complete the updates, Undoing changes, Don't turn off your computer.

    Please help...

  • Well, I helped myself after viewing other posts in different websites.  I disabled my antivirus software and reattempted the download - it worked!

  • Hi,

Thank you for your update. In addition to disable the anti-virus, for the others who might take a look into this thread, please also try the methods mentioned in the below article:

    Troubleshoot problems with installing updates

Also we may first try to use  Windows Update Troubleshooter.

    Best regards
