Linked projekts in different colors only shows in default color RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I have several projekts linked into one main projekt. The underlying projects all have different colors on their bars (blue, for electrical projects, brown for building projects etc), but when they show up in the main project, they all show up in the same default color.

Is it possible to have the different project bar-color to show in the main project view?

  • jadacool,

Yes but you will have to do it separately in the master project. Here's why. In a dynamically linked master the individual subprojects are not part of the master, the master only contains pointers to each subproject. However the view parameters, (i.e. view table, font color, etc.) are unique to the master. For example, even though you have customized the Gantt Chart view in each subproject to have unique colors and fonts, that customization only exists in the individual file, unless you copied that customized Gantt Chart view to your Global file so that all files have that same formatting. That's probably your best option. If you haven't already, create a customized view and then use the Organizer to put it into your Global. Now use that view in the master and you will have what you want.

    Hope this helps.
