AD only replicating 1 way, Main DC has 1 member others have 2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi There,

I've been wracking my brain about this all day, the scenario is:

Head office Server 2012R2 - Main DC

Does not receive AD changed from branch offices

Has 1 member in Domain system volume

Can ping both branch server no problem

    Branch 1 - DC

Receives AD changed from Main DC

has 2 items in Domain system volume

Brand new install of serve 2012R2

Connected to Main DC by lan - lan vpn

Can ping main DC no problem

    Branch 2 - DC

Receives AD changed from Main DC

has 2 items in Domain system volume

Brand new install of serve 2012R2

Connected to Main DC by lan - lan vpn

Can ping main DC no problem

I cant work out why the main DC is not creating the member entries... I assume this is why the AD replication is only 1 way, on top of this after I've got this working I want to replicate some folders that are unique to each site however at this rate im going to set them all on fire and start again...

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :)

I am wondering if that – PDC in main office, RODC in branch offices.

    >I can’t work out why the main DC is not creating the member entries.
If this is the case, any change(AD related) in branch office should connect the PDC to completed. RODC in branch office only copy readable data from PDC, and you are unable do any change to RODC.

I would recommend you to follow the document below to reconsider the architecture(according to your requirements).
