SCCM 2012 migration - how to re-enable gathering data RRS feed

  • Question

  • SCCM 2012 R2 --> SCCM CB

    I started my migration few months back (not really in a hurry)

    But with SCCM CB updates it was required to stop the Data Gathering (otherwise it would not upgrade)

    Is there a way to re-enable this process (at the moment I have Gather Data Now button greyed out), as I still need to copy quite few changes that did happen to 2012 R2 ?

  • I'd remove and re-add the migration Job.

  • But that will now know whats been done & whats not...

    EDIT

    At least the "Do not overwrite..." option seems to work (and skips)

  • Just click on Configure instead and click OK. The data gathering process will run and get enabled again.

  • Well, that is the very issue, once stopped it seems that it can NOT be re-enabled no matter what.

    Re-creation is the only way (sadly)

  • That's not true, did you try what I said? When in a stopped state, "Gather data now" will be greyed out. Instead, right click on your defined source hierarchy, click on "Configure", click OK without changing anything. It will get enabled again.

  • Can you post log entries then from migmctrl after you reconfigure the migration source?
