Restoring from mdb files RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi guys, I am very new to Sharepoint 2007, so my apologies for that.

Firstly I guess, I need to know If I can recreate the prior site if I just have all data files from the SYSMSI... directories and all the files and subfolders from the wwwroot? These are WSS databases if that helps.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Kon Adams,

Yes. It would put it better saying if you have backed up your content databases and able to restore them back + You if you have backed up any IIS configuration changes and if you can reapply those iis related configuration. Then you are good with the restore strategy.

    Thanks.

  • Hi NikhilSD,

Thanks for the reply, it is much appreciated.

I dont have any backups of content databases or of IIS configurations.

I have read a lot of threads that all mention restoring or adding or importing content databases from a backup but I dont have any. I think what has happened is the site or database was detached somehow from within Sharepoint, if that is possible.

    Thanks

    Kon
