column validation that rejects more than one word of text? RRS feed

  • hello, i'm new to sharepoin and triing to figure out something that i just can t gett it so if any of u have little time pls....ave created some column in a list and i want to set some of the columns to not accept new content to be addet to them if the nwe text is more than one word!?

    so when nwe content is added it must not exed one word of twext aka " no spaces" ..

  • Custom functionality like this can be implemented with InfoPath or Visual Studio .NET, but not out of the box SharePoint.

  • HI,

    This functionality is not available out of the box in sharepoint.

    You can implement it in these two ways:

    1. Create an event receiver for list item and implement the validation in itemAdding and itemUpdating methods.

    2. Using the regex modify the forms of the list:

    Try implementing the logic here.
