How to update console version on WSUS RRS feed

  • Question

  • Evening everyone,

A week ago I ran an update to WSUS in which it now sees Win10 machines (Windows8.1-KB3095113-x64). However, I started to see an error with our 3rd party package publisher tool (cannot publish updates because server version is different from console version). It reports that the console and server are different versions.

    Server version is 6.3.9600.18057

    Console version 6.3.9600.16384

I have google around how to update the console version to 18057 but I am getting old updates for WSUS.

    Any help is appreciated!

PS: Here is the KB for the server version: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3095113

  • Hi,

    >>It reports that the console and server are different versions.

Where did you find the version of the WSUS Administration Console? I will check it in my lab and update it to you.

Besides, have you tried to remove the KB3095113 which you mentioned above?

    Best Regards.

  • I have 2 WSUS servers and a Third Party Patching Server.

My existing fully functional SCCM/SUP server is 2008 R2 Running WSUS v. 3.2.7600.256 and works perfectly

    My brand New 2012 R2 SCCM/SUP server is running WSUS v. 6.3.9600.18324

My Third party patching server is running WSUS console v. 6.3.9600.18324

The message I'm getting when i try to publish a package from the third party update server to the new 2012 R2 SCCM/SUP server is as follows:

"The server has the required certificates for Publishing. There is a version mismatch between the WSUS server API version: 6.3.9600.18324 and the WSUS client API version: 6.3.9600.17477."

I have the following patches installed on both the thrid party update server and the new 2012 R2 server:

    KB2938066

    KB3095113

    KB3159706
