Call Transfers - Close call transfer window RRS feed

  • Hi there,

    We have Skype for Business on-premise deployed, and are having an issue with transferring calls. Our receptionists are in a hunt group, and transfer a lot of calls that come in on our pilot number.

    The issue we're having is that when the receptionist transfers a call, the call window stays open until the call is answered by the person they transferred the call to. This can take up to 30 seconds, and means the receptionist is unavailable to take another call until the transfer has completed.

    Is this default behaviour? Ideally, we'd like for them to click transfer, select the person to transfer to and then for the call window to close automatically. Is there a way to achieve this?

  • Yes gmcfrost, thats the way its been working as we could see  transfer and hang up works, For reception VVX would be a better option to have hardkeys and  also display handy. Similar requirement thread was also there earlier you can go through this for further information

  • What is the client end point that the Receptionist is using for picking up the call? usually the transfer should work without any issues, what happens if the person do a transfer  and then hung up the phone , is that call getting disconnected?

    They're currently just using Skype for Business client to pick up the calls. They were previously using Polycom VVX500's but we removed these to make sure they weren't the reason for the call window staying open.

    If they close the call window once they've clicked transfer I believe the call still gets transferred, but it seems odd that the call window stays open by default when the call has been transferred.
