annoying TEMP Profile issue in a Domain environment. (WinXP Win7) RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am investigating a root cause for the TEMP profiles in our environment.

We have deployed the UPH Clean this has reduced the TEMP profiles from occurring but we are still getting the issue.

A few machines had the Event ID 1074 before all the other USER IDs 1530,1508,1500,1985,1500

There are a few options I am currently investigating are:

How to deploy Endpoint Protection definitions by using a file-copy procedure

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/953524

Can FEP when it does the updates using the file copy procedure cause TEMP profile?

Or could there be a script or application running when client logs on

Event ID: 1530 may be logged in the Application log on a Windows Vista or newer computer

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947238

I’ve noticed on a few Win XP Win 7 machines this Event ID 1074 USER32 occurs

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2001061

Windows doesn’t do a proper shutdown?

I guess there are many reasons why TEMP profile occurs, are there any other options I should investigate in? Obviously I have been doing my investigations reading many articles for solutions to implement. I would like to find a solid solution (s) I can implement in our environment. Or there are no true permanent fix’s you can apply?
