Reporting from more than one WSUS server RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have a few WSUS servers and I wonder if it’s possible to run a script/report to get information from all the servers/updates rather than running them individually on each WSUS server?

Currently to run reports, we use the standard reports built into WSUS and would run them on each WSUS server to see how many updates are needed for each server, or is a certain update is installed/needed.  Is there any way we could run a script to
connect to each database to obtain this information?

I know one option is to make one a master server and all the others downstream servers and then you could get a report from one server for all, but because of the amount of servers, scalability, geographic locations etc. this is not ideal, also we have had issues previously with downstream servers where people have deleted groups from the master server which has stopped synchronisation. <o:p></o:p>

  • Hello,

To get reports from multi WSUS servers, script may help. Here is a script:

    WSUS html report:

This is a script that can be run on-demand or as a scheduled job to scan a WSUS server and generate a HTML report. The script can send an email with the report as the body or save to a file and then open it up for viewing. This is used on a single WSUS server to report on. Multiple WSUS servers will require multiple scripts to be configured at this time.
