FCS scanning remote files in another site. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I currently have FCS setup to run a full scan at 0200.
My collegue was in San Diego in one of our other sites. While there he accessed an ISO on a file share local to that site. Now he is back in the UK, as that ISO was in his recent items FCS has decided to scan it, unfortunately that iso is several gigs in size so as you can imagine it is taking long time to scan is there a reason that FCS doesn't notice the long access times and then abort scanning that file?

I have added the following exclusion but read in another theard that you can't exclude remote locations, so I just want to ask does anyone know if it is valid?
    \\example.com\shares\*

I have also added the exclusion:
    "C\Users\*\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Recent"

Does %appdata% work if used as part of an exculsion?so I could use "%appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent" instead.

    Regards,

    Ryan

  • That exclusion does not work currently.   I believe there is something being worked on in regards to this.
