Send HTML formatted email with Task Scheduler RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

    I am having trouble with creating a scheduled task to send an HTML formatted email.  I noticed that there was a HeaderFields tag and I tried to use it like this (inside a <SendEmail> tag):

          <HeaderFields>

            <HeaderField><Name>MIME-Version:</Name><Value>1.0</Value></HeaderField>

            <HeaderField><Name>Content-Type:</Name><Value>text/html</Value></HeaderField>

          </HeaderFields>

    I don't see anything on the MSDN Task Scheduler Schema pages showing an example of using the HeaderFields tag and child tags, just the definition:

    Thanks for any assistance you can provide!

  • I've scoured to the edge of the earth to try to make it work with no avail.  Workaround, I simply installed bmail command line mailing utility (Free) and scheduled task to run an application.

    basic bmail script is like this:

    bmail -s smtpserver.tld -t recipent@contsco.com -f sender@domain.com -h -a "Alert Notice Subject" -b "xyz alert has been triggered. Microsoft task alert's via email lick balls."

     Thanks,
