Problem with moved files RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello, I moved my Visual Studio C# with sql tables project to another computer. On the new computer I cannot edit table definition. E.g.: I cannot change the type of the attribute and I get this message:

Conversion from 'geography' to 'float' is not supported on the connected database server.

In database explorer I tried to do this changes, but I was not successfull.

On the new computer there wasn't Management Studio installed, so I add this tool to SQL server 2008, but here I cannot import the .mdf file.

Any hint what to do with this?

You can just delete the geography column and add the float column assuming you don't need the geography data if any.

You said you are not able IMPORT the .mdf file... How you are trying to import it?

YOu need to attach the .mdf file to create database and not Import it.
