Error Exporting Exchange ssl certificate RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi there,

I am attempting to Export our self-signed SSL certificate from our Exchange server in order to import it on our Project 2010 server. However when I run the ExportCertificate command I recieve the error "The private Key couldn't be accessed or it isn't exportable"

Do I have to create a new self signed cert that is exportable?

    Regards,

  • Hi Steven,

Renew the certificate by the following command so the private key is exportable:

    Eg:

    Get-ExchangeCertificate -Thumbprint 89F6B890FD76EFAFC1E359001AFDD51D99F8BFC8 | New-ExchangeCertificate -PrivateKeyExportable $true

    Hope it helps.

  • What do you mean by "our self-signed SSL certificate"? Is this the one created by Exchange or from an internal CA?

If you are using an internal CA, then create a new cert that also supports Private Key Export.
