Is there a selection pane in Word 2007? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I use templates for letterhead and use Word 2010's Selection Pane to selectively hide the letterhead graphics for printing on pre-printed letterhead.  Is there any kind of functionality like this in Word 2007?

  • Hi

Thank you for using Microsoft Office for IT Professionals Forums.

Selection Pane in Word 2007 was invalid, this the behavior was by design, This is by default and cannot be changed.
It is an OfficeArt shared feature and appears in PowerPoint and Excel.

However, there has a workaround to hide text in Word 2007:

Highlight the text that you would like to hide and then right-click and choose Font.

In the Font dialog box, you’ll see the Hidden checkbox in the Effects section. Go ahead and check that.

  • Thank you for taking the time to reply.  However in this case I am trying to hide the letterhead graphics, not the text.  But you have answered my question, so I will be upgrading to Word 2010.  Thanks.
