Multilingual site support in Wss 3.0 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I want to create sharepoint site in english and portuguese. In moss 2007 we have the option to create a source site and using variation we can create sites with two different languages. So when i change anything in one site, automatically it will be reflected in other site also.I want to achieve the same thing in Wss3.0.

I followed the following link http://sadomovalex.blogspot.com/2010/01/how-sharepoint-sets-currentthreadcurren.html and created a custom httpModule to achieve the multilingual site in Wss3.0.

Anyone please help me on this.

    Regards,

    J.Akila

  • Variations are not possible in WSS, it is a MOSS only feature.
The total development cost to recreate this in WSS will be (way) higher than upgrading to MOSS (and more error prone) so I can only advise against this.

  • Hi,

Thanks for your reply. The white paper says about the Multilingual support in Moss 2007 site. But i want to achieve the same thing in Wss 3.0. Is there any work around for this without using site template concept?
