Always Wait For The Network Vs Group Policy Startup Policy Wait Time?

  • We are having issues with group policies (especially software installation settings) not kicking in on reboot unless we add very painful wait times of using the always wait for the network setting in addition to increasing the processing wait time from default to 90 seconds.  This makes for painfully slow start times especially when the laptops are taken off site and are not even benefiting from the added wait time.

What's the difference and are they redundant settings?

Isn't "Always wait for the network" supposed to wait for the network to connect and the wait time settings specifies a fix period of time to wait?
