  • And as far as only migrating users, you could create a project and put all the resources in the project 2007.  Then open on project 2010 and migrate users to project server.

    cheers

  • hello comdini,

It's relatively easily, if you want to migrate and include all you old SharePoint Workspaces, then follow this

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee662500.aspx  This is a full upgrade or migration

If you only want to migrate the Project Server database, then follow this.

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee662499.aspx  This is a core upgrade or migration.

As far of backups, I would use the same backup strategy that you are currently using.  The backups can be from project server, Sql Server or 3rd party.   Whatever option you choose, be sure to test it.

    Cheers

  • Migration was successfully. How to migrate Project sites?

  • To Migrate the sites (assuming you mean the project workspaces), you need to content database which contain the sites.  This database needs to be restored into your 2010 farm.  And then attached to 2010 using the following stsadm command:

    STSADM.EXE –o addcontentDB –url <WebAppURL> -databaseserver <SQLServerName> -databasename <WSSContentDBName>

For example: STSADM.EXE –o addcontentDB –url http://servername/pwa -ds DBName -dn WSS_Content

Hope this helps to begin with.
