Outlook Outbox has weird item with .url ending RRS feed

  • Question

  • No idea how to even describe it, so I am posting a picture.

    What on earth is this?    It gives an error anytime I try to access it.

  • As said before; It's hard to say what happened from the information provided. It is certainly not something which Outlook did out of its own.

    URL-files are just pointers to an Internet location. Drag & drop them out of Outlook into a File Explorer window if you want to keep a copy of the file.

  • Can't you just delete it? Or otherwise try to delete it in Outlook Safe Mode.
    Start-> type; outlook.exe /safe
    (note the space in the command above)

    Files can actually be moved from File Explorer into Outlook folders, so it might have been caused by a drag & drop gone wrong. It's hard to tell from the information provided ;-)

  • Yes I can, but I am hesitant to do so without knowing what it is. Suppose she sent an email (so the email appears in the sent folder ok) but the URL (or some such) got stripped out.  I can't even tell what email or action this is affiliated with because I can't make out any properties.
