CHECK IN/CHECK OUT OPTION FOR ONE FILE/FOLDER RRS feed

  • Question

  • I want to enable the Check In and Check out option but not for the whole library... only for a file and/or folder.

    Is that possible?

  • Hi StefaniaLVS,

You could achieve it by managing permission on each file or folder.

If the user only has the “view only” or “Read” permission, the user will not have the permission to check out or check in file.

So you could select the file and click the “manage permission” in the item menu.

You could set the user permission for only one file or folder as the “contribution” permission or other permission which is more than “contribution” permission.

And you could set user permission for other files as the “read” permission or “view only” permission.

  • As Check Out/In is always available for all items in a library, I'm guessing you are asking about Required Check Out, and that can only be enabled for the entire library.
