Connects to internet, browser use blocked RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am running Windows 7 on a mid 2010 Macbook Pro through Bootcamp. It used to work great, but for whatever reason it doesn't want to connect to the internet now and I cannot figure out why. Anytime I try to connect to the home network or access the internet through any program, it freezes for a couple of minutes and then fails to work properly. I am connected to the router (I have tried both an ethernet cable and wifi without success) so to the computer it appears there is an internet connection, but something is keeping it from doing so. Today I discovered that Windows Defender updated without any problems. This is the first program to do so, and I'm a little bit sick of it. Any suggestions?

  • Hi,

Do other programs work fine, or just Internet Explorer has the issue? If so, please let us know the exact error message when you attempt to open one webpage?

You could use no Add-ons mode of Internet Explorer to troubleshoot whether it’s caused by add-ons.

If the issue still occurs in No Add-ons Mode, I suggest you reset your IE settings:

If the above suggestions do not work, try to troubleshoot in Clean Boot Mode.
