IE 11 Group Policy Preferences

    Question

  • Frustrated.....

I am trying to get IE 11 Group Policy settings setup.

    2008 R2 Domain

Management PC is Win7 with IE 11 installed.

I have also tried to install the inetres.admx in my Sysvol\PolicyDefinitions folder without luck.

How exactly can I get to see my Internet Explorer 11 in Group Policy MMC???

All I see when I edit Preferences Internet Settings are

    IE 5 and 6

    IE 7

    IE 8

  • You can create a central store for your templates and load in the 8.1 ADMX settings: http://deployhappiness.com/creating-the-group-policy-central-store-updated-for-windows-8-12012r2/

Group Policy Preferences doesn't use ADMX.

To gain access to the GPP settings for IE10/IE11 you will need a Win8.1 or WS2012R2 machine (with the GPMC/RSAT tools)
