MAPS 9.2 Subnet Scan & Active Devices Duplicates RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello -

In a recent engagement with a client, We scanned a rather large environment (15k+ endpoints). During the scan we used Active Devices and Users and the Subnet scan (at different times with the same database). I found that after the scan completed we now have duplicate entries in the database. This is due to the CreateCollectorId having a value of 8 and 1 on a system that has the same AdDnsHostName (with a different DeviceNumber GUID) value in the Core_Inventory.Devices table. This has widespread implications as it completely skews the results for vSphere (in our case it was showing 18 vCenter servers in the table with only 11 actually being unique). This also skews MS Sql Database reports, IIS reports and Storage reporting from the VMware tables.

Can you have the development team look into this for future releases?
