Using a workflow as a Farm solution or Sandbox solution? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have created a State machine workflow as a farm solution, but I am not sure if it is the right solution. I have been asked to use a sandbox solution. (SP 2010)

-The workflow is attached in a custom list and will only be used in our site collection. http://something/teamsites/OurSiteCollection

-The whole SharePoint site is not available outside the intranet. There is a outside partner that will have to add an item to that list. They will consume a WCF Service from our intranet server that will add an item to our custom list (via COM).

The workflow needs to consume the partner webservice in order to retrieve the information.

I have heard that you need a Farm solution in order to consume web service (incoming and outcoming services).

So is it possible to only have a Sandbox solution? I have heard that is may be possible to consume service with BCS?
