GPO launch internet explorer at logon creates issues RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I have created new gpo and linked it to userOU. Thing is that I need to create gpo which will start IE at logon and browse to sharepoint intranet site. Problem here is that if users starts application which needs to be opened in browser the browser will block that and open intranet insted. Application is for example TDOffice.

Is there a solution for this?

  • What setting did you implement? What exactly does the user "start"?

  • First I went under user configuration\Admin Temp\Win Components\Internet Explorer and there I modify role Disable changing home page settings

Efter that I went under user configuration\Windows Settings and Scripts --> logon script and added c:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplorer.exe

Now when user login to Citrix web browser starts automatically and intranet site in on. That is fine but if they start an applications example (TDOffice)  which needs browser to working that gpo opens browser and block that application and starts intranet site insted.

Is there a way to avoid this.

"iexplore.exe http://...." should work anyway. Check your application.

Then verify how this particular application launches IE...
