Timeline view - side by side RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I've baselined my project and want to have both the baselined values AND actual values on my timeline.

Is it possible? If so, is there a way to display both these timelines in one view?

I know this is displayed in the gantt chart, just curious as to whether it's possible with MS P 2010's new timeline feature

    Cheers

  • A couple additional options:

    1) Find a third party reporting tool.  I use Chronicle Graphics OnePagerPro
    for this sort of graphic.
    2) Export to the Visio timeline.
    3) Modify the Gantt to show timeline-like views (see a series of blog posts
I did a couple months ago on rolling up Gantt Charts)

Of all of those options, #1 is probably the least labor intensive.

  • You may also want to try Kidasa Milestones Professional 2010 (works with Project 2003 and later).  www.kidasa.com

  • Only scheduled data is copied. You could however copy teh timeline view to PowerPoint or a graphics tool and add what you want.

  • Thank you for your advice.

Chronicle Graphics OnePagerPro looks amazing but costly.

I like the Visio timeline option. That way I can keep all the timelines in a format which allows me to move and add comments. Plus I already have visio :)
