The expected version of the product was not found on the system - SharePoint 2013 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I try to install the April 2015 CU KB2965266 but get the error message "The expected version of the product was not found on the system". I have already installed SP1, KB2878240KB2881061KB2882989KB2920804 and KB2956166 but stack on KB2965266. I tried to pass over the CU KB2965266 and continue to install the next CU e.g KB3039780 or KB3054866 but I got the same error.

I got some tips as a workaround to use the command "office-kb.exe PACKAGE.BYPASS.DETECTION.CHECK=1" on the cmd but I get the message "is not recognized as an internal or external command,
    operable program or batch file."
I tried almost all tips I found on the Internet but no solution yet.

Please have you any idea what to do so solve this issue? I'll appreciate any help.

    Best regards

  • Never use bypass detection. What is the current build # of your farm? If you have any Language Packs deployed, did you also install SP1 for those?

  • Hi Ashraf,

I have seen a similar thread from you, your solution is uninstalling and reinstalling the all the language packs you have installed on the farm (4 language packs) with their SP1. After that you ran the installation of  CU April 2015.
