    Unable to mange server roles. Getting the following message:  Unexpected error refreshing server manager 2008 r2

    Through reviewing the forums, a link to a file was provided by microsoft and a password was needed to download a fix.   This link had expired and suggested I open a new thread to download the fix.

    Please help.

    Please run the SUR tool, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821, and
    post the contents of the log file at c:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log to
    this thread.

    what does one do when the server update tool seems to run forever and never generates a log file?  2008R2, brand new machine.  Bummer.
