i have a question and i can't find a straight answer any ware maybe you can help me.

a client of main wants to install a new site of sccm 2012 in his organization but he wants to know if he can setup the hierarchy in a way that the parent site of sccm 2007 will be able to be on top the sccm 2012 as a primary site or a secondary site.

Is there a way that i can find out if it is possible and supported ?

to be even more clear i will describe the system that we want to create:

primary site - top of the hierarchy sccm 2007 - ABC

different site - under the ABC site ( primary or secondary ) child site sccm2012

  • Hi,

It is not possible to install a SCCM 2012 site in an SCCM 2007 hierachy. There are no inplace upgrade support either so you would have to setup a new hierarchy with SCCM 2012 servers and do a side-by-side migration.

  • No. You cannot mix CM07 and CM12 within the same hierarchy.
