Recover deleted meeting invite

    Question

  • I accidentally deleted a meeting off my Exchange calendar for which I am the event organiser.  It has disappeared off my calendar but the 100+ attendees still have it on theirs and due to the never-ending recurrence, they always will unless I can cancel it.

I have located the invite in my deleted items but have been unable to restore it to my calendar - I have tried move to calendar and drag and drop. When I do this it just says "As the meeting organizer, you do not need to respond to this meeting" and the invite remains in deleted items. I need to get this back on my calendar or at least cancel it for everyone.  This is becoming a big headache - any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

    Best Wishes,

  • Hi Emma,

May I now how did you delete the meeting? If you want to delete a meeting which you are the organizer, Outlook will ask you to send out the Cancellation notification. The only method I know is to change Outlook to Work Offline mode, send the cancellation and then delete the cancellation from Outbox.

When I tried to restore a deleted meeting from the Deleted Items folder, I can drag it from the Deleted Items folder and then drop it to the Calendar navigation pane:

After that, the meeting showed up in my calendar and then I could send out the cancellation. Were you trying to restore it using the same method?
