ADFS FARM Backup in ADFS 3.0 and ADFS 4.0

  Hi!

  I believe you should perform a System State backup and also backup all of your folders on the servers.

  The ADFS2.0 guide applies to ADFS3.0 in terms of Backup - http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/2199.ad-fs-2-0-how-to-back-up-the-federation-service.aspx

  The most important thing to backup is the internal ADFS-servers.
  Please follow MS instructions:
  https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/identity/ad-fs/operations/ad-fs-rapid-restore-tool

  For the WAP, its just a "dummy"-role so you can reinstall them pretty easy of just take regular snapshots or system state backups.

  Microsoft provided a pretty nifty tool for doing the backups found here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/identity/ad-fs/operations/ad-fs-rapid-restore-tool

  As for WAP, I would not worry about backing them up since there isn't any configuration worth backing up.
