Test calls using Hyper-V test environment RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I created a test environment using Hyper-V.  This is the test environment and it is not connected to a PBX.

I thought I enabled the audio.  When I RDP to the test workstation, it shows that Audio is enabled.

The problem is I cannot make calls from the VM.  The message says that I cannot make phone calls because there is no audio device.

Any ideas?  I want to be able to make a test calls within the test environment.

    Thank you.

    Thank you. Eric.

  • Hi,

make sure that here's a recording device attached to the VM. Client requires a recording device as well as the Audio device. and check in Client settings that the devices are properly configured.

  • Hi,

Please check if you enabled audio over RDP correctly:

    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/731.hyper-v-troubleshooting-enabling-audio-over-rdp.aspx

In addition, please refer to the following link to check device redirection settings and registry key:

    http://www.get-vm.com/blog/tag/remote-desktop-services/

    1. Enable "Allow audio and video playback redirection" and "Allow audio recording redirection", disable "Limit audio playback quality"

    2. Find the "fDisableAudioCapture" REG_DWORD in the following registry key and change the value from 1 to 0 so the data reflects 0x000000000 (0)

    HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\WinStations\RDP-TCP

  • If you just want to test audio and video in a VM you can use the audio (Virtual sound card) and video (VCAM) emulators from http://e2esoft.cn
