Any update on getting the TS2900 to work with DPM? RRS feed

  • Have had the exact same issues on and off for a few months. Most of the time has been spent diagnosing and replacing hardware issues. Now that hardware is replaced in total, am experiencing ID 24052 errors all the time, even trying to erase tapes.

    If we cannot get a resolution shortly, one of the two will have to go: the TS2900 or DPM. Neither is a particularly comfortable choice, but neither is having a grumpy customer.

    Help please.

    Hi Ray,

    IBM TS2900 is not yet supported by DPM 2010, we are working with IBM to add support for this library.

     

    You will see media left behind after backup job, this behavior is not because of DPM but due to unexpected TS2900 behavior. We are currently working with IBM to find the hardware issue behind the problem.

    We are also trying to patch DPM product to work around the hardware issue but at this time we have no ETA or gurantee we can effectively work with that library.  If you have not done so yet, I would open a ticket with IBM to report your problem so they have it on record and it may help them decide if they want to persue fixing the library H/W issue so it's compatible with DPM.
