  • What is the PowerShell command that you are using that generates this commend.   It would be best to show the last three PowerShell commands prior to error.

    Provide options as well.

  • Backup-SPSite -Identity http://*****16sea01:6789/  -Path d:\one_1.bak -NoSiteLock
    Restore-SPSite -Identity "http://*****16sea01:2221/ " -Path D:\Backup\epmitsitebackup.bak   -DatabaseName  WSS_Content_2221  -GradualDelete -Force
    or
    copy-spsite
I face the same error every time.

  • Not sure if backup and restore works between different versions of project.

    1) Migrate and convert the 2013 content database to 2016 content database.  Basically go thru all the same things you did when you original migrated

    2) Then try backup and restore.

If you are working thru the backup and restore because you want PWA on the root, try Mount-SPProjectDatabase on the root.

  • Thanks for the suggestion Michael,

I have already tested every possible way to bring the site to root.
My above written backup restore procedure works for all other project instances,

This one has some problem in constraint  and not allowing me to do so.
