vista reposrt weird hard drive figures RRS feed

    ok i hard drive reports 75.7 gb of data used, viewing and addding up all folders within this harddrive it comes 2 around 47 gb- either i ahve 28.7 gb of hidden files or my harddrive is reportign wrong...im consurned because i have had this computer about a month

    You can resizethe System Restore disk space by following command:

     

    vssadmin resize shadowstorage /For=C: /On=C: /MaxSize=6GB

     

    6GB is the maximum amount of space that can be used for storing shadow copies, you can modify it.

     

    NOTE: Please run this command with administrator permission.

    Check to see how much space sys tem restore points are taking up.

  • ok it says that shadow copies may take up 12 15% of disk space...tahts 33.45 gb on my computer, so after less tahn a month of restore point i would have used that much disk space, i ahve delt with systeme restore b4 and it usually give me like 5 months of restore points on 10gb allocated,so i doubt that is the reason
