  • Hi,

From the desktop launch the URL : http://SERVERNAME : PORTNUMBER (default portnumber is 40000) to install the Dashboard Designer.

  • Thank you Sundar for your response. As suggested I typed the URL http://servername:40000/webservice/Pmservice.asmx and I was able to see the dashboard designer. Now in order to define the data source as Analysis Services, I gave the server name where PPS model resides and in the databases dropdown I was not able to see any of the AS cubes. Do I need to register these data sources as ODBC connection first? I do have admin rights on the server. I would appreciate your help - Thanks

  • Hi,

Please install the Dashboard Designer as local instance on the Workstation and follow the steps

    1. From Office Button, Select Options | Server Tab
    2. Update the Server URL and select Connect.  Connection needs to be successful
    3. Right Click on Data Sources and Select New
    4. Select Analyis Services and follow the Wizard Steps
    5. Update Server, Database, Cube information and select Test Connection

    Thank you,

    Sundar - MSFT

  • Thank you Sundar. I exactly did what you have suggested but I still can't get to see the AS cubes. I think I will open a ticket with the support.

  • VinSee,

This is most likely a permissions issue.  Can you give us an idea of what type of environment you have?  Is everything installed to a single machine or do you have a distributed setup?  If you have a distributed setup what is installed on what server?  Thanks
