  • Question

  • Hi,

I have installed windows steady state on 13 computers in a teaching room last year (july 2007)
    (SCTUI : 5.1.2600.3370 (vista_rtm(wmbla).070605-1549) )
How to update to WSS 2.5 ?
    Do I need to uninstall WSS (SCTUI : 5.1.2600.3370 (vista_rtm(wmbla).070605-1549) ) before installing WSS 2.5 ?
    What is the procedure ?
(The less time consuming !! )

Thanks for all your advices and help

Hi DonSaluste, we need to remove the previous version of Windows SteadyState and then reinstall the latest version. Before removing it, I suggest you follow the steps below to disable all restrictions in order to avoid any potential conflicts:

    1)      Disable the restrictions in "Global Computer Settings", "Set Computer Restrictions".

    2)      Turn off "Protect the Hard Disk".

    3)      Unlock all users in "User Settings".

    4)      Cancel all the restrictions in each user.

    5)      Restart the computer.

Then, we can download the latest version via the following link:
